Safety Standards Explained
All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) footwear supplied to the European market requires a valid EC type-examination certificate and shall carry the CE &/or UKCA mark. The EC type-examination certificates are issued by European notified body and subject to testing to the relevant European harmonised standards.
Anvil Footwear offers specialised technical support, for peace of mind and all of our supplied PPE footwear is fully compliant with the European harmonised standards. The products are certified to the state-of-the-art harmonised standards (at the time of certification) including EN ISO 20345:2011, EN ISO 20345:2022 and EN ISO 20345:2022 + A1:2024 for products incorporating a safety toecap.
Products without a toecap are certified to EN ISO 20347:2012, EN ISO 20347:2022 and EN ISO 20347:2022 + A1:2024 with one of more of the PPE claims therein. The certifications are updated to the latest state-of-the-art standards as the existing certificates expire. The previous versions of the standard remain valid and while there are many changes in the newer standards, the safety of PPE certified to the older ones is not affected, these remain safe and saleable with the marked protective claims.
We have active membership of the European Safety Standards Committee for foot and leg protectors so you can be rest assured that at Anvil Traction we are always fully knowledgeable of and compliant with the most state-of-the-art harmonised standards available at the time of product certification.
